Mountain Shadows Estates Basic Information
Mountain Shadows Estates is located just south of the town of Grand Lake and Shadow Mountain Lake. Plenty of forest and wildlife surrounds the area. The neighborhood is gated and offers the perfect getaway that you will always be happy to return to. Mountain Shadows Estates sits about six miles from the town of Grand Lake, or a five-minute drive. Granby is about a fifteen-minute drive from Mountain Shadows Estates. Winter Park Ski resort also is just around the corner, just a forty-five-minute drive away so you can hit the slopes easily.

Location and Community
Located just off HWY 34, Mountain Shadows Estates is a private gated community that requires a passcode to enter. This helps to prevent unwanted or ungranted access to the community. Inside this gated community is a very friendly and welcoming neighborhood that has plenty of open space and wilderness between homes. Home Owner’s Association rules also prevent eyesores such as neglected properties and homes or recreational vehicles left outdoors.

Surrounding Activities
Just outside the heart of historical Grand Lake, you will find plenty of people to meet and have fun with. Every year Grand Lake hosts a variety of events including New Year's Eve Fireworks, Winter Carnival, Pond Hockey Classic, Memorial Day Parade, Fireworks on the Fourth of July, an Arts and Crafts event, Buffalo Barbeque Days, Summer music located in the park, Rocky Mountain Repertory Theater, Halloween Events for kids, and a Christmas Tree Lighting event, as well as many more.

Rocky Mountain National Park is waiting to be explored! From Mountain Shadows Estates, it is a fifteen-minute drive to the entrance of the national park. Inside the park is 415 square miles of beauty, nature, wildlife, and opportunity for adventure. If you want to snowmobile there are miles of trails to follow in the Grand Lake area, with much more off the trail to rip through. A fifteen-minute drive away is great skiing in Granby and forty-five minutes away is Winter Park, both are perfect for getting a day of skiing in. Just next door you will find Shadow Mountain Lake which connects to Colorado's largest natural lake, Grand Lake. Both these lakes are perfect for boating, swimming, sailing, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and much more. In the winter when the lakes freeze over you can snowmobile, ice fish, and occasionally skate. The town of Grand Lake also offers plenty of shopping, events, and restaurants.

Shadow Mountain Lake
Located just a short drive away, up north you will find one of Colorado's best lakes. With plenty of timeless views surrounding the lake as well, this is a place where years can be spent. The lake has 1,346 acres of surface area. Watching the waves move across the lake is a great way to relax and forget about your worries. The lake is home to plenty of wildlife, with many animals coming down the mountain for all the lake offers. If you're looking to fish, Shadow Mountain Lake is home to plenty of types of fish, catch a boat ride or cast from the shore. Shadow Mountain Lake also has opportunities to boat and sail. Or if you're looking for something a little smaller you can easily go kayaking or canoeing. The lake has one boat launch available to the public. Further north is Grand Lake which offers all the same activities and has its own boat launch to be used.

Mountain Shadows Estates does have an HOA which is run by five individual members. Members are elected to three-year terms. The board is also responsible for another committee, the Architectural Control Committee which is responsible for any new plans or proposed construction.
