The Orsini Castle is located in Nerola, a village approximately fifty kilometers northeast of Rome, in the picturesque Sabina region, just an hour's drive from Ciampino Airport.
Built between the 10th and 11th centuries by order of Napoleon Orsini and completed in 1085 by his son Gentil Virginio Orsini, the castle has undergone various transformations throughout its fascinating history, including its conversion into a hotel starting in 1994.
The property includes the majestic "Castle," with its four imposing corner towers and crenellated walls, along with the building called "Scuderie" opposite the entrance on Via Aldo Bigelli, and the three adjoining buildings on four levels known as "Il Borghetto," in addition to a separate building used as a gym/game room.
The castle is spread over two main floors: the ground floor and the first floor, with additional intermediate levels. The main structure houses all the hotel services, including reception, banquet halls, a restaurant, a bar, a breakfast room, a kitchen, storage rooms, administrative offices, and 21 rooms of various sizes. The common areas are richly furnished and adorned with historical details and original frescoes. The rooms are also tastefully and elegantly furnished, preserving the charm and atmosphere of the past. The Scuderie comprises 5 suites distributed over two above-ground levels with lofts.
"Il Borghetto dei Lecci" consists of four buildings on four levels offering 14 hotel rooms.
The property is completed by a portion of a building spread over two levels in a rustic state intended for a game room/fitness center and a small storage room.
The castle is surrounded by extensive outdoor spaces, including a swimming pool with changing rooms below, overlooking the splendid valley in which the castle is nestled.
Thanks to its elevated position, the castle offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside and the picturesque town of Nerola.
An oasis of peace and beauty, ideal for those seeking a unique and prestigious residence.
This property represents a unique opportunity for those who wish to live immersed in the history and charm of an authentic medieval castle.
