Growing up on the Gulf Coast of Alabama, Callie dreamed of the Big Apple. Her dream came true at 17 when she moved to NYC to attend NYU. As a hungry young renaissance woman, the city offered endless possibilities. At school she designed her own major, studying psychology, food science, music, glass blowing, and on a lark, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Maybe it was her other childhood ambition of being the Pink Power Ranger that drew her to martial arts, but whatever the reason, she was hooked. She trained with world champions, competed ferociously, and eventually received her black belt, leading to a rewarding career of teaching others her passion.
After graduating, she started her own business as a private chef, focusing on health and wellness meal prep for Broadway stars, artists, and athletes. In her free time, she played in bands, grew vegetables in her miniature Brooklyn garden, hosted and produced an ongoing artist showcase series, and wrote short stories.
Like for so many New Yorkers, it was always the Hudson Valley that offered the greatest reprieve from life in the city. On weekend trips to New Paltz or Rhinebeck or Woodstock, she learned the true meaning of the word ‘decompress.’ A mix of mountain towns and picturesque pastures and orchards, there is nothing quite like the magic of the Hudson Valley and Catskill region, and she knew it would be the obvious choice when it came time to reroot. In 2023, she moved with her husband and their two weird cats to the bucolic farm town of Marlboro.
Now Callie is committed to helping folks make the obvious choice, whether it’s a permanent relocation, or a special place to decompress.
When she’s not checking out small towns and marveling over breath-taking properties, Callie spends her time project managing Savaggi, a fledgling arts organization based out of Newburgh, NY. And of course, working in her life-sized garden.
