Local Expertise. Global Connections.
Maarten Vandersman began his career as a residential real estate broker nine months prior to Lehman Brothers' bankruptcy in September 2008. Consequently, he swiftly adapted to brokering transactions successfully across various market conditions, including sellers' markets, virtually non-existent markets, buyers' markets, balanced markets, and evolving sellers' markets. Today, Maarten combines cutting-edge data analyses of market trends, including comparable sales, with old-fashioned personal service to ensure optimal results for his clients. He has represented buyers and sellers of cooperatives, condominiums, and townhouses across the city, spanning a wide range of price points.
Maarten prides himself on personally handling all aspects of a transaction, from meeting buyers at an open house and personally answering all calls to attending the closing. Born and raised in the Netherlands, he earned degrees in architecture and business from two of the continent's most prestigious universities. Fluent in English, Dutch, French, and German, Maarten's linguistic abilities enhance his ability to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Maarten is recognized as a New York Residential Specialist® by the Real Estate Board of New York and holds certification as a Certified Negotiation Expert. He resides in a 1913 West End Avenue Cooperative, where he has served as President and Treasurer. In his spare time, he is active in his local running club and enjoys participating in marathons and cycling events.
