Donte Calarco was born in San Rafael, California, a city nestled on the San Francisco Bay, and studied Political Science and Broadcast Journalism at Chapman University. She moved to Los Angeles to pursue her dream of becoming an actress and landed roles in national commercials and movies. She worked for Sony Pictures Entertainment for seven years and also as a freelancer covering red carpet events.
Donte discovered Maine through her father, who is from Connecticut and has always loved Vacationland. When she visited Midcoast Maine in the summer of 2017, she thought Camden looked straight out of a Hallmark movie. It was love at first sight. She moved from California to this quintessential Maine coastal town, and then settled in Saint George when she found a gorgeous house on four acres with 250 feet of oceanfront. Having traveled all over the world, she can attest to the magic of the Midcoast and what it has to offer, and in her opinion, there is no better place to live. Donte aims to bring that same magic to her clients in fulfilling their real estate dreams, aspiring to be like a dream catcher for each of them.
Donte credits her mother, who has a passion for renovating homes, for inspiring her to work in real estate. Licensed since 2019, she was the number one producer that year at her previous agency and a top agent in all of New England. She has continued to achieve record results and ended 2021 and 2022 as one of the top three producing agents in her office, top 2% in the counties she serves and top 5% in the state of Maine. Donte is a Waterfront Specialist selling over $24 million dollars in homes on the ocean. As an agent at Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty, Donte brings her client-focused approach to help buyers and sellers fulfill their dreams, whether it’s finding a new home, vacation home, or selling a dream home, with a positive experience from start to finish.
Donte also has a lifestyle brand called “House of Squirrels,” inspired by her nickname, where she covers fashion, travel, and food. She enjoys spending her free time traveling, cooking, playing golf, and snowboarding, though her true passion is advocating for animal shelters and rescue dogs. She volunteers at Paws in Camden, a non-profit no-kill shelter, and donates about $10,000 annually to her favorite rescue organizations, including Reversed Rescue, Paws ‘R Us, and Legends of the Paws Rescue. Whether through sponsorships or donations for life-saving surgeries, transports, and supplies, Donte is dedicated to saving dogs in need. She has six rescue dogs who have come from across North America, from Los Angeles to Puerto Rico: Vesper, Leonidas, Peyton, Jack, Max and Bronco.
