John Ehrlich

John Ehrlich has had an extraordinary career path. Born in New York City, he studied mathematics and chemistry, graduating with honors from Hobart College. He went on to Princeton University as a research fellow and then earned his master's degree from Dartmouth College. After a brief period teaching at Dartmouth, John heard the call from the world of retail.

?He began in the buyer training program at Abraham & Straus in New York. He progressed to Lord & Taylor, where he was senior vice president and general merchandise manager. From there, John became senior executive vice president and chief operating officer of Gucci America, where he was responsible for merchandising, product development, marketing and real estate. He went on to become president and chief executive officer of Mark Cross and the Fendi wholesale group. 

While it may have seemed to many like the time to retire after such a fast-paced career, John created a new concept and business, combining his knowledge of 18th-century American art and antiques with his experience in luxury retailing. The Federalist was a carefully curated collection of high-quality reproduction furniture, lighting and accessories crafted by American artists. After a successful 20 years, John sold the brand and the business.

Over the past 25 years, John has taken advantage of every opportunity to escape to his home in Port Royal in Naples, where he volunteers with The Shelter for Abused Women & Children. Additionally, he spends his summer months on Nantucket Island, where he is a historic interpreter for The Nantucket Historical Association.

John has always had a passion for real estate, having conducted nearly 40 personal transactions in the luxury markets of Manhattan, Greenwich, Connecticut, East Hampton, New York, Nantucket, Massachusetts, and Palm Beach and Naples, Florida. John is uniquely qualified to represent buyers and sellers based upon his vast professional experience, knowledge of the market, respect for honorable relationships and sincere desire to help others discover a life well-lived in Naples. He is a member of the Naples Area Board of REALTORS®, the National Association of REALTORS® and Florida REALTORS®.
