As a native of the Pasadena area with deep roots in the community, Larry Doan brings a unique perspective to the Greater Pasadena real estate market. Larry’s family has been selling real estate in the San Gabriel Valley for almost 80 years. His grandmother, Marie Doan, was a real estate agent starting in the 1940s and his parents, Larry and Dudley Doan, opened Doan Harbison Realty in 1975 and Podley Caughey and Doan in 1988. His sister, Terry Doan Shelton, currently is an agent with Sotheby’s International Realty.
Larry grew up in San Marino and has lived in Pasadena, South Pasadena, and San Gabriel. The same commitment and dedication Larry devotes to his clients is seen in his dedication to the community, coaching Little League and other youth sports or flipping pancakes for a PTA fundraiser. His wife Shelia, was a PTA volunteer and Girl Scout leader and is currently a 6th grade teacher at Huntington Middle School.
Prior to joining Sotheby’s International Realty, Larry spent over 20 years in the investment business. He was a specialist/market maker on the Pacific Stock Exchange before becoming a top producing stock trader and partner at Crowell Weedon. He learned how to research and analyze equities, recognize market trends, and adapt to market changes.
