Larry Rideout

Larry Rideout is the Chairman and Co-Owner of Gibson Sotheby’s International Realty, with more than three decades of experience in building real estate companies throughout New England.

Rideout began his career as a real estate agent in 1984. His success locally led to a consulting position and eventually to his role as Regional Director of New England, where he supervised 400 Century21 offices and sought new franchise opportunities for the brand. In 1999, Rideout joined Cendant Corporation (now Realogy), the parent company of Century21, ERA, Coldwell Banker and Sotheby’s International Realty, and served as both Regional Vice President and Senior Vice President of Franchise Business Development. Over his tenure, Rideout earned top honors from the company four times.

In 2006, Rideout purchased Gibson Domain and transitioned the company into an affiliate of the Sotheby’s International Realty brand. Under his leadership, the company evolved from 55 associates and $250 million in sales volume to 400 associates and $2.9 billion in sales volume in 2020. Today, the company is the #1 Boston-based real estate company in Massachusetts.

Rideout is guided by a core of family values and believes that the leadership team you surround yourself with is the greatest factor in determining agent success. He is a sought-after speaker at national and international real estate conferences and has presented on a variety of topics, in particular, building a brokerage culture that promotes agent collaboration, productivity and success. In 2019, Rideout was the recipient of Boston Agent Magazine's 2019 Industry MVP Award among eight esteemed nominees.

Rideout currently serves as a Director Emeritus for the WPL Foundation, a Director of the Greater Boston Association of REALTORS®, a Commissioner of the Woburn Housing Authority, and a member of the Woburn Chamber of Commerce and the Woburn Host Lions International Club. He is the past President of the Woburn Public Library Foundation.
