Richard is a licensed Real Estate Sales Associate in both New York and New Jersey with Sotheby's International Realty and maintains strong connections both domestically and abroad. An out-of- the-box thinker and facilitator, he believes it is his moral obligation to uphold the highest ethical and fiduciary standards while delivering value based solutions and results for his clients. Richard began his career with Sotheby's Auction House in Manhattan as a Furniture Registrar responsible for the collection and release of property, from consignment, to photography, to sale. Focused on 18th and 19th century English Furniture and decorative arts, Richard worked closely with all furniture departments and experts to help promote and expedite property in preparation for auction. After several years working in the Art Markets, Richard shifted his focus to the equity markets where he amassed over ten years of investment management experience including six years of active portfolio management experience while working for Gerschel & Company, a Manhattan-based single family office. Initially hired as a trader, Richard became responsible for the active management of the firms investment management operations focused on both in-house and externally managed portfolios. In 2010, Richard had the unique opportunity to become the Estate Manager for a private family located on Long Island responsible for overseeing the management of various prominent properties and luxury assets in and around the NY Tri-State area including the final construction of a 25,000 square foot residence. In addition to his property management and operational responsibilities, Richard also became increasingly involved in facilitating a number of real estate transactions on behalf of the families with whom he served. In 2014, Richard started a private consulting firm focused on providing Estate and Household Management services, solutions, and operational support to private families and prestigious households both domestically and internationally. As a past board member and well-respected member of the Domestic Estate Managers Association (DEMA), Richard continues to believe in the power of specialized, solution-driven results for his clients. Richard holds a BA in Art History from the College of Charleston and has received professional accreditations and certifications from the Investment Management Consulting Association, New York Society of Security Analysts, and the Project Management Institute, including two sommelier certifications from the Starkey International Institute and the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET). On a personal note, Richard is an avid runner, enjoys a good round of golf and believes that purchasing a property in Jersey City was the smartest decision he has ever made.
